- Many people believe that baptism is denouncing one’s existing religion and joining Christian religion. This is the way the Christians have propagated. But baptism is an outward expression of your internal belief. It is a declaration you are making is to the evil forces that have made your horoscope. You are declaring that you are taking shelter under the cross where Satan was defeated. You are declaring to the evil ones that you are going to live a life of faith in Jesus Christ and be reconciled with God. The question of changing caste and religion does not come into the picture.
To support this point read Acts 8:26-40. Philip, one of the disciples of Jesus Christ, baptized a senior Ethiopian Officer in the desert. The officer after hearing about Jesus Christ asked Philip whether he could be baptized by him. In verse 36 and 37, it is very clear. “And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. (Acts 8: 36-37). We read that the Eunuch officer was baptized. Who witnessed the baptism? There was no filling up of papers or other documents. This man did not join Philip’s church. In fact, we read that the Spirit of God took Philip to another place after the baptism and they never met each other again.
When the Eunuch officer from Ethiopia got baptized the evil forces witnessed the step he had taken. So remember baptism is mainly to challenge the evil forces that have written your horoscope.
